Freelance Work

Pittsburgh Freelancer:
Experienced freelance Director of Photography, Camera Operator, First Assistant Camera (1st AC), Video Editor and Grip for production companies nationwide.

Brandon’s visual interpretation of Gala surpassed even my highest expectations. Each frame – from concept to execution – was carefully constructed, and every shot, light, and sequence was considered both individually and within context of the entire film. His knowledge, efficiency and overall professionalism on set greatly improved the final result. Brandon is a true partner in creativity, and a master of the visual arts.
I have had the distinguished honor of having Brandon Roudebush be the director of photography on films I have been involved with. Two of which are featured permanently on my reel. He is professional, exact, and very easy to get along with. He finishes projects on time if not ahead of time and always takes a genuine interest in addressing and resolving the sometimes taxing particulars of projects. And he has a very clear camera “eye” knowing both his camera and equipment, and all the necessary tools along the way intimately. I would hire him again for projects in the future, in fact I just did for our production of the haunted house, and I would recommend him to any serious producer.
David Ogrodowski, Actor/Director
Brandon did an amazing job capturing all the aspects of the Cupid’s Undie Run, which is a big task. In just a few minutes, he was able to highlight an event that was both inside and outside, was both a party and a huge fundraiser for a serious cause… all of the things we wanted he was able to provide in a timely and professional manner.
Rachael Olbeter, Cupid's Undie Run
Brandon and his team were efficient and friendly and amazing to work with. He got the video done in a timely manner and with amazing production quality. We are very impressed with his work and his professionalism and we will recommend him to anyone.
Suzanne Gladstone, McGonigle & Gladstone
Pixelab Studios is a blessing to me for helping put together our amazing video. I would never choose another production company.
Shawn Kenney, W.I.S.H
Pixelab Studios is by far one of the best companies we have worked with as a business. In filming the documentary for my business, Reclamation Brewing Company, Brandon not only showed that he was a master of his craft, but also that he is a visionary. We basically handed him the reigns and he steered – always able to see what is what we were shooting for. Brandon is a great storyteller and an excellent film-maker. We would recommend Pixelab Studios highly to anyone in need of video work of any kind!
Was very impressed with the professionalism and quality of work. From start to finished product it was a great experience working with you guys!

Pixelab Studios was extremely professional and the video was nothing short of excellent. I will certainly use their services in the future and highly recommend to others.

How It Was Made: Steel City: Pittsburgh Cinematic Short

By | November 1st, 2013|Projects|

Many people believe that Pittsburgh is still the dirty, smokey city that it was in the early 1900's. In reality, the city has radically evolved from its "steel city" roots. If you've ever visited Pittsburgh, you'll notice that there are several distinct areas of the city. These areas have their own unique personality that I was very interested in capturing. After having just read The Visual Story: Creating the Visual Structure of Film, TV and Digital Media by Bruce Block, I began thinking about ways to use composition, movement, color and depth to tell the story of modern-day Pittsburgh. I wanted to create a bright and [...]

In this episode, Ben Smith, John Smith and Ben Duncan describe why they love craft beer, how they got started brewing and concludes with the launch of their Kickstarter campaign. You can donate to the Reclamation Brewing Kickstarter campaign at http://kck.st/TnWJ6v.
